Rice Paper: GROTESQUE. Large format

Straight from the Renaissance, the world of grottesche — here in large format, sized for real furniture. Candelabra panels where scrolling foliage sprouts dragons, winged chimeras, urns and draped canopies are printed as single sheets in A0, A1 and A2, so a whole wardrobe door or cabinet side can be frescoed in one gesture. Aged-parchment plates put theatrical masks at centre stage — feathered, moustached, half-human faces surrounded by trophies and scrollwork — while a calligraphic series frames ornate letters with ostriches, a peacock, fruit and flowering vases, and dense black-and-white engravings and soft-toned baroque appliqués complete the picture. The tall symmetrical designs are made for door panels, drawer fronts, headboards and boiserie: apply the rice paper and give the piece that noble, hand-painted air only rice paper can give.
