Rice Paper: Food

Food is a feast laid out on rice paper. From the orchard come botanical apples, pears, pomegranates, grapes, figs, cherries, lemons and berries, in dense repeat patterns and watercolour still lifes; from the pantry, complete jam-jar label sets with matching bands and tags, Sale-Zucchero-Caffè jar labels in several colours and languages, and tiny rose, blueberry and teacup patterns perfect for covering tins.

The sweet side offers nineteenth-century banquet desserts, watercolour cupcakes, chocolate cakes and ice-cream posters; the rétro side answers with enamel-style signs — coffee shop, pizza, hot dog, croissants, donuts, cold beer — 1950s pin-ups holding sundaes, and gingerbread and Christmas-pudding sheets for the holidays.

Apply the rice paper to wood, glass, cardboard or fabric: kitchens, trays, jars and coffee corners have never had so much to choose from.
